Tin Salamunic: Im not going to pretend like I went into this title without any skepticism. After all, the predecessor, despite being somewhat of a cult classic, was plagued with bugs and an atrocious AI. But considering the meager handful of releases within the sniper sub-genre, fans didnt have too much to choose from aside from the excellent Sniper Elite V2. City Interactive promised major improvements to Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, and while they addressed most problems from the past, several questionable and outright frustrating design decisions prevent the sequel from being a consistently enjoyable sniping experience.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 Review | Canadian Online Gamers

Canadian Online Gamers: "Perhaps an extremely patient and diehard sniping fan might get some enjoyment out of this game but its doubtful. The sniping itself is done alright, but without a little more action or other elements to gameplay the average gamer will find themselves bored quite quickly. Sure you occasionally get to knife someone from behind but I hardly call that action. Taking into account that this is a niche market, as Sniper Elite is the only other title of this nature that comes to mind, I still find it hard to recommend this game to fans of the genre. Everywhere you turn youre met with rushed design elements and visuals and are left feeling ripped off."

OXM: "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is just entertaining enough to buy when its accumulating dust in the bargain bin. But for a richer sniper experience with more gruesome kill shots, last years Sniper Elite V2 is a better bet."

TCO writes: "I've only recently begun to appreciate the life of a good Sniper, with Sniper Elite V2 pulling me over to the dark side of shooters, so I was excited to get my hands on City Interactives Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 last week. I hadn't played the original, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but my new-found love for sniping had me more than ready to look down its scope."
